61/2 year old side by side has given us some trouble in the past with the water dispenser but now no water is going to the ice maker either. Checked the water line in the basement and water is flowing through it. We raised the freezer temp thinking it might have a frozen line but that didn't help. Any thoughts as to what is going on and how to fix it?

The icemaker and the dispenser water supply goes through the water filter. The water filter is frequently located in the refrigerator side towards the back right. Replace filter. When you pull the filter out, inspect it for ice. If your refrigerator is getting too cold the filter will ice up and block water to the dispenser and also the icemaker. The icemakers do go bad sometimes in GE refrigerators but rarely. I'd change the filter first.

Some other issue the GE refrigerators have is the water line icing up in the dispenser area. This will cause "no water dispense" but it won't affect the icemaker. Another thing that causes "no water dispense" is a bad control board, if your refrigerator is so equpped.
