An Englishman quarrels with his wife. She kicks him out. He embarks on a journey of happenstance that takes him all around the world. During his adventure he "grows up", becoming wiser, more self-assertive, and much more in control of himself and the world around him. In the end he returns to his starting place and we find out how his relationship with his wife has changed. I read this novel 20-30 years ago. Public library.
