My husbands ex employer fired him after they discrmanting against him and then retalieating against him and it is all on tape he came home every night for 9 months in a bad mood snapping at me and the kids over everything to the point that its was stressing out my marrige really bad I have gained lots of weight due to all the stress in my marrige I want to know if I can sue them for stress on my marrige emotional distress and also for defamation/slander my husband works in the oil field and in Texas just about everyone you talk to knows some one in the oil field so now our name is out there as people you don't want to be caught hanging around with for lack of better words all because he sued that company for discrmantion what can I do this sucks I'm not a sue happy person but something has to be done please help

Anyone can sue for just about anything. The question is whether you will win.

The first thing is your husband needs to consult an attorney on the slander/defamation part. He has to prove he was discriminated against, that the employer maliciously spread lies about him and that those lies have resulted in a financial loss. If he can successfully sue over this, then you might have grounds for your suit on emotional stress. Otherwise, you don't have a prayer of winning.
