My boyfriend and I entered into a land contract almost 3 years ago. The names are listed as "or and not "and" with my name being listed first. We have since broke up and he physically has left the house, but has not moved his things out. I want to have his name removed from the contract. He still has a key to the house and will not return it. He thinks that because his name is also on the contract that he can come back to the house to stay. What are my rights? Can I have the locks changed? Can I move his things out for him? Are they any reprocussions if I do all of the above with his name still on the contract?
