Hello,

Ive got a quick question that might have an easy answer. In my shower (its two taps, hot and cold) the cold water runs fine but the hot side I get nothing. Now, I guess my question is. Could the hot water line possibly have frozen up even though the cold has not? Or do I have some sort of "valve" problem?

Any possible troubleshooting/fixes would be much appreciated.

I have always heard that hot water freezes faster than cold. Just a thought.

Most likely you have a frozen pipe. Try to find where it might be exposed to the cold air.

Not enough details. Is it freezing weather where you live? What type of faucet? What brand? How old is the faucet? By the way, a water heater disipates the chlorine so hot water pipes do freeze first. Some plumbers hook an icemaker line to the hot side because they don't want to install a filter. I think it is best to hook to the cold side and install the filter. It pays more. [smilez]

Darn it mach, just when I was going to wax eloquent on solving your situation, lol. Glad the pipe did not burst. Strange as it sounds, I have been hearing more and more of pipes freezing and not bursting. Maybe the material is getting better.
