After about 4 months of use, this began to happen.

I would try to turn on the fan (either Low Med or High) and the fan would barely turn. Sometimes it would work - this lasted for about 5 days.

Since then, if you try to turn on the fan, you get no response. Now, the light will still turn on and off.

Anyone have this happen ? If so, how did you resolve it ?

... make any noise (humming) when the unit is turned on? Easiest thing to try is to replace the remote in the fan assuming the motor is not plugged up with dust and dirt.

I have a Hampton Fan with the receiver located in the light kit. The remote has been misplaced, and the fan and light will not work. The fan ans light have separate wall switches. Can I bypass the receiver by changing the wiring configuration in order to operate the fan and light seperatly with the wall switches?
