Not sure what "never been lat" is,

Are you using the first urine of the morning when you do your test?

Also at 46 it is very common to start seeing that "change of life" happening and starting to miss periods, going two or three months with no periods, and even stopping them all together. I know many women that by 46 are no longer having any periods.

So that is of course a option. But assuming you are having sex, you could be pregnant and getting false negative is not uncommon either.

So to be sure, visit your doctor for an exam and a blood test to verify

While it is possible that you're pregnant... chances are you're entering peri-menapause. You start missing periods, or being really late. Mood swings, hot flashes, etc. will start coming too. It's best to have this verified with your Doctor to be sure it isn't some other serious cause. A simple hormone level check will verify it. There's lots of natural herbs to help with the symptoms. If it make you feel better, I started this at age 28! Family genetics for me. All I can say is thank God for natural rememedies! I can't take the synthetic stuff as I have severe side effects from it. I've been doing natural HRT for about 10 years now with no problems at all! Go get tested by your OBGYN. Better safe than worried!

Being late IS a symptom... usually the first. Get checked by the Doctor. You want to be sure it's nothing more serious. I don't want to worry you any more than you already are, but it could be lots of more serious issues. IF you are pregnant, at your age, it's serious. If it's NOT prei-menopause, it could be things like tumors. GO GET CHECKED! This is not something to procrastinate about. Take care of yourself. :)
