I lost my husband to cancer. He died within 8 weeks of being diagnosed. I miss him terribly and not day goes by that I do not think of him. We were married 38 years and I always thought I would see him in my dreams but nothing so far. I am coping but the pain lessens with each month that goes by. People say go on and pick up the pieces but I am trying my best to get through each day.

The loss of your husband is indeed a tragic and painful thing. But you can keep his memory alive. You both endured many things together, good and bad. You can recall countless moments of joy, laughter, and heartache. You learned a lot of valuable and life-changing lessons from him didn't you? I'll bet that you can recall every one of those lessons, can't you? Good. Carry those lessons with you day in, and day out. Let those lessons become part of you, so, as long as you're alive, he's alive. He will live through you as you pass his wisdom, his love, and his compassion on to others. Find the strength in his honorable character and show that honor to everyone you meet. It's his honor which lives through you. Of course you miss him. But he still loves you dearly. Let his love sustain you as you move forward with your life. The love of another never wanes, only their presence does, and only for a moment. God bless you and good luck.

Be patient for everything that you have got from God, because nothing will be certain in the world except die.
