What is the rule for deducting real estate taxes on properties. I have two places, my house where I live and my get away place.

You can deduct real estate taxes on both properties. Just put the total of both taxes on line 6 of schedule A.
See IRS Publication 530 for more details on deducting taxes as well as mortgage interest: www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/p530.pdf

So even if I have a property in another state that I pay property tax on, don't live there, only have it for a vacation home I use a few times a year, I can deduct the property tax off my Federal taxes ?

Absolutely. The only restruiction is that the property is for your personal use, like a vacation home - not used for business or rented out.
