I have all of my pictures saved on my hp pavilion with window's 7 laptop,I am wondering about what I will need to do a factory reset. What will I need to put back on it. I did not get a disc for this laptop so will everything that it came with be on there like it was the day I bought it. And then I would need to just add my protection and thing's like itunes

A factory reset means it will be restored to how it came from the factory. Everything you added will be gone. So anything you want to keep should be written to disk or backed up to an external drive.

When you boot the laptop there should be a notice to press a key to get to restore.

Performing a factory reset, means restoring the computer back to Day 1, when it came from the factory.

ALL of your personal data will be GONE.

All programs you have downloaded, or installed, to include applications.
Documents you have downloaded, or created.
Photos, videos, and music.

Copy all off to disks, or USB flash drives, THEN perform a Full Installation. (Destructive Installation)

If you do not have the Restoration Disk, contact HP Support.
In the USA the disk is free. The shipping and handling is not.

$17 for a 5 to 7 day ship, $24 for a 2 to 3 day ship.
Call 1-800-474-6836
24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Have your Serial Number written down, and handy, to give to the nice representative.
It's in the white Service Tag, to the right of S/N.

For other countries use HP Worldwide Support,
