If an ajoining property has sump pump, another kind of pump or motor in ground, can this be causing our home damage. Two or three time during night (seems to be at same time each night)there is a pounding, streaming of water sound and vibrations that seems to be coming from neighboring property. We have recently had major water problems in basement and a lot of cracking of dry wall, cracks in wood in attic and leaking of chimney. Who can detect source of this problem and what can be done about it before there is major damage to structure. Also, if there is something that is being done on neighboring property can local police be involved to locate since may be harassment or cause serious harm to homeowners.

Is this a commercial business or pumping station that is next to you? What do they do next door.

I guess the answer is of course it is possible, ** With that said, I lived for 20 years next to railroad tracks, trains would come though to such a point that sliding closet doors would open when they came though, And over 20 years because the house foundation was build well and the house was solid with good seal and dainage, we never had one issue.

So with your home is the foundation wrapped, is the drainage proper always away from the house. How old is the chimney and has it been keep up. I guess what I am saying is all of these can just happen if a person does not take care and keep up a property also.
