We have a Frigidaire Electrolux refrigerator that is suddenly dispensing hot water. The filter was changed around two months ago and there are no indications that the filter needs changed (the filter status light is still showing green).

Anyone have any ideas? All help appreciated.

Thanks,

Kevin

Pullout the fride from the wall remove bottom rear cover then vacume out the cooling systum with your house vacume sometimes the coils can get so much dust that it over heats hense giving you hot water if this doesn't help check the waterline it should looklike a tube if its to close to the coils move the line away from the coils also make sure the fride is pulled away a little from the wall let me know how it works out

Gain access to the back of your fridge. Remove the 4 screws that secure the cardboard cover at the bottom and make sure that the fan that serves to cool the condenser is still on the motor shaft. Someone on another blog had a similar issue and the fan had fallen off. This dramatically increases the heat under the fridge. Since your water supply line goes from the fridge filter to a cooling coil at the bottom of the fridge side compartment and then flows to a valve just beside the condenser before it makes its way back to your dispenser, any increase in temperature of the lower section will have you fill half a glass with warm water before the cooler water makes it to the dispenser. Once you are there, run your vacuum cleaner around the bottom section. You should have no shortage of dust down there :).

Cheers

Make sure to replace cover on back before running refrigerator as many need cover to route air through coils. I like to wash coils off with a water hose sprayer and some soap like Simple Green or Windex. Just keep water out of motor and electrical connections, but I have never had a problem doing this. Vacuuming never worked too well because you can't get in there too well.

My issue is I get cold water first and then warm water through the water dispenser.

Any ideas?

It sounds like the water is bypassing the tank in the refrigerator that cools the water, but I would clean it and then check how the tubing is routed.
