I have a commercial building. I need to run sewer and water line approximately 100 feet out to the road. I do want copper too. The plumber is telling me that there will be an additional charge per foot of sewer and water line run more than 10 feet past the building. Can someone please tell me what would be a reasonable cost per foot for the sewer and water line? $10 per foot? $30 per foot? $60 per foot? Hope you get the picture. Please hurry with any answers as I will be speaking to him very soon and would at least like to know what I'm in for. Thank you in advance for any help!

From browsing some other posts, I see that some more info may be needed to answer my question about cost per foot. The line is about 5-6 feet down, the dirt is very hard, clay-like and there are no obstructions from the building to the road. Again, I am just looking for a ball park area of cost per foot of the sewer line and the water line before I speak to the plumber. And judging from your answers, I'll speak to at least two more plumbers after that :)

You're asking us to give you a estimate without any information. Union/Non-union? Local wages? Number of men on the job? Cost of backhoe time. Material cost? Connection Charge to connect to the city sewer. Give us all that information and we might be able to give you a ballpark figure. A more simpler way would be to get three estimates and go with the best one. Good luck, Tom

Well first off if your are living in Canada anywhere you can't use copper for under ground drainage only for water and after that the information Tom asked for is needed and location

Plumbing outside building diff cost for permit change lately the thing is affected by access like is it paved and what is required for code to be used in your area for materials copp for sewer line isn't frugal at all you need to use plastic or cast

Sorry more comes in to play is there an existing tie in on the line or do you have to cut street... do you have to go to a manhole is there sidewalk and curb...
