I signed a non compete contract after 2 weeks of work for a landscaping company. After 6 months working for the company, I found out they do illegal stuff. Fraud, tax evasion among just 2 of the issues. I found a company that is above board that I would like to work for. Is illegal activities reasons to dismiss the non compete contract

Sales is probably the problem. If you go after their clients or even compete on clients, there could be a problem. Its hard to enforce non compete clauses for the most part. But that's one of the areas where it can be enforce3d.

If they take you to court, you would have to prove their unethical practices, which might be difficult. But, I would be surprised if they did. If you can stay out of the sales part of the new company, it shouldn't be a problem. But I doubt if they would take you to court over it.

Call the better business beaurau and report them there first. Post your question to them and they may be able to lead you in the right direction to get correct answers.
Personally, I would quit were I am, make the appropriate phone calls to athourities,(including Immigration and th IRS), and go to the legitimate job before the other one gets caught for unscrupulous business practice. You don't want to be caught up in that.

God Bless Americans!

The Better Business Bureau won't do a thing. In most areas, the BBB simply records complaints against a business, nothing more.
