View Full Version : How to clean out a drying vent

I have dryer vent that I believe to be stopped up. It runs inside the wall up to the attic where it is attached to what looks like the same type of hose that goes between the dryer and the wall connection.
I have tried putting my leaf blower in and blowing it out but it didn't help. I sealed up around it with a couple of towels so I didn't have an air leak... I'm out of ideas...

Try using a sink snake usually long enough to reach the debris that is pluging your tube. I was able to use a vacuum cleaner to remove the rest of the debris.

You need to re-route that vent. The distance is ridiculous. Redo the whole thing even if it takes relocating the dryer. Then disassemble the dryer to clean out all the dirt that has lined the ducts. If you don't do this a fire is in your future.
