I have a credit card debt that is over 2.6 years past due. It has been through two collection angencies. Is there a S.O.L. On this debt. I live in B.C. And the debt occurred in B.C. The debt is actually my Moms, but because of health issues I have legal POA to deal with this debt. The collection agency has a copy of this POA signed by a lawyer. Can I force them to deal strickly with me and stop phoning my Moms house.

It's strictly deal with you, not strickly, and, yes, write them a letter and tell them not to contact your mother OR you, if that is your choice.

The Statute is 6 years.

The statute of limitations for credit card debt in BC is six years. Legally they can still hound you. I agree with JKT, send them a letter include a copy of fhe POA.
