It often takes a year or more to get pregnant (took me three years), especially when the woman is involved in work or school, raising other children, and just stressing out over trying to get pregnant. The trick is to forget you want to get pregnant and just have fun in whatever way you can, in bed and out of it. In other words, relax!

Have you seen your OB/Gyn about it yet?

Are you ACTIVELY trying to get pregnant, or are you just having sex with no birth control?

Are you tracking ovulation? Are you taking your BBT every morning? Are you otherwise healthy--no drinking or smoking? Do you have any conditions like diabetes or gluten intolerance well under control?

There are SO MANY reasons to not get pregnant right away that it takes the average couple a year to get pregnant. The most common reason is that women do not understand their own fertility and just have sex when they THINK they are ovulating, rather than tracking ovulation and having sex prior to actually ovulating (which means tracking over a period so that you can predict it each month).

You also need to make sure you have no clear medical problems---if you are NOT ovulating, for instance, or if you have an STD that you don't know about. It is always good to have a FULL physical before trying to get pregnant, and to have a long conversation with your OB/Gyn about what would work best for you.
