The light goes on at times and then goes off. I think the problem is the harness which the sensor connects to ismissing the clip to keep them snugly together. Want to splice junk yard harness connection in place of broken one but unsure of best practice for connection.

Cut wire, slide on a piece of heat shrink tubing, solder wires using rosen core flux, and position and shrink tubing with a heat gun or match.
