I recently switched BC from the pill to the Nuva Ring. I inserted the ring on the first day of my period on Dec. 6th and I removed the ring on January 1st. My boyfriend and I have had sex in between there. Since I removed the ring, I have had some odd symptoms, clear sticky discharge (possible mucus plug?) and some spotting since the 1st of January when I removed the ring. It is now 3 days after the day I am supposed to start my period. I am having some cramping, headaches the last couple of days, very moody (could be stress about being pregnant)and still spotting but never enough to even wear a pad or a tampon.
Any advice here? I don't want to worry my boyfriend and over react here with him. Could I be pregnant?

Definitely not a mucous plug since that is something that comes out shortly before you give birth. All of those symptoms could mean your period is about to come on. Also I've used the nuva ring for 6 months and the first 2 months my period was later than normal. With that being said, I used the nuva ring properly for 6 months. I just found out my husband and I are expecting. Never thought I'd get pregnant while using birth control properly and while its less likely to happen no birth control is 100%. So if you are having sex, yes there is a possibility you are pregnant. Take a test. If its negative wait a week. If you still haven't started take another. Good luck.

I have never been pregnant so I am not sure if it is a mucus plug developing or if it is implantation spotting. However it isn't like a brow it is a reddish color. I was supposed to get my period a few days ago. I feel like I could be pregnant... I know that sounds odd. Abdomen feels like I am going to get my period but it has felt like that for almost 2 weeks now. Not sure if the Nuva Ring has screwed up my system that much or what.
Makes thing worse is that I broke up with my boyfriend today. I really don't want to freak him out now by this. Not even sure if I should mention it to him at all.

I would maybe take a test before saying anything to him. If you're period is past due it's a goof time to take a test. Keep us posted and good luck
