I was arrested for a felony which was dismissed a month later. I have a signed and sealed disposition from the court. That disposition was not recorded on my record. It still shows the arrest but no outcome. I went to see the judge but he told me that the recording was not his job. He referred me to the district attorney and that's where it stopped. I never heard a word from him, even though we talked person to person and he received all the information. My question: Is the judge who signed the disposition responsible for the recording of this on my record? Is the form 160.50 and should it be recorded the same month as it was signed and sealed. Any help and reference would be most helpful. Thanks

It usually takes some time for a disposition from a court proceeding to be recorded in all of the proper places. If the charge(s) were dismissed, it is quite possible that the disposition was sealed. (You don't mention if you have ever been arrested before). Usually if it is a first time felony offense and you don't have any other arrests, your file will be sealed.
If the disposition that you have is signed and has been sealed, there is no reason to have it in your record if you never have been arrested before. You need to check with the court clerk of the issuing court.

In NY a 160.50 is an outright sealing of both the arrest and disposition. It is supposed to be sealed immediately unless you have an ACD whereby the record remains unsealed for about 6 months
