I am over 65 years old and paying $150/month for medicare. I am working right now and hence medicare is being deducted from my paycheck too. Am I making double payments?

I do not think so. The $150 monthly payment is probably a premium payment, whereas your Medicare tax is the legal tax assessment against your earned income.
