Is there any harm in wanting to have sex with my girlfriend all the time? She is not into it at all and avoids even talking about it.

Most likely she wants a real relationship, not one based on sex but based on communication and more. So why do you think you have to have sex ?

Perhaps it is because you want it all the time? Maybe she's just tired of being treated this way.

At 48 years old... im not surprised.
How old are you? How long have you been together?
Is it possible she may be going through menopause (some women do at this age)

I don't think women - at least women I know - stop having sex, stop wanting sex, when they hit a magic age. This is more about the relationship than about wanting to have sex.
Of course, there's always the question of a physical exam to rule out problems BUT assuming she's in shape, takes care of herself, I think it's more about the OP's attitude than her sex drive.
Got a dislike for this - Apparently other women DO cash it in in their late 40's.
