I have a 1987 CRX,DX that sat for several months it won't start. The battery (after charging) and ignition coil check out OK, I put in new plugs, distributor cap, and rotor. Still it turns over but won't start. I then replaced the igniter. The car started right away but stalled after a few minutes and won't restart... I sprayed some choke cleaner in the carburator stiil no go. I tested the igniter and it has continuity in one direction and none in the other between its two terminals (which is normal). Any ideas... fuel?

You have done a lot of good things to your CRX.

. Ensure that the CEL consistently comes on for 2 seconds and then goes out, when the ignition switch is turned to ON (Position II). If so, then the problem is definitely distributor related, provided the ignition switch is good. You may want to check the ignition switch for wear or pitting.

. Ensure that the igniter and coil are new and that you applied silicone heat transfer compound to the back of the new igniter. Bench testing these items is pretty much a waste of time, since it doesn't simulate conditions under load.

. Clean the main ECM ground, located on the thermostat housing.

. Replace the distributor housing (genuine Honda only), if the problem persists. Install your new igniter and coil in the housing, to keep the cost down.
