Friday night, I noticed that we didn't have hot water, just warm. Saturday I thought that the switch had been tripped, went to push the button, and found that that wasn't what was wrong. The hot water in pipe was dripping, so I turned off the water, and replaced the pipe with new. Later, I noticed that that hadn't been the problem, but I did get the dripping to stop.:) I then called Lowe's with my problem. They suggested replacing the heating fillament, which I did this afternoon, yet after getting everything hooked back up, still no hot water. I have a 30 gallon State Scout. I'm running out of ideas and am wondering if anybody has any idea as to what could be wrong. I've checked the box to make sure that the power isn't tripped also. Thank you afor your answers in advance!

Do not try this unless you are sure of your skills. 220 vac can do you some big time harm. Shut off the 220 breaker to the heater. Go back to the heating element connections, have someone flip the breaker, use a good electrical meter to confirm you have 220 vac. Elements can burn out but once in a awhile breakers go bad too.
