Ok so I've asked my hair stylist several times if she can lighten my hair from natural black brown to a light brown and I always get the same answer. It's not possible, I have to do several sessions of highlights until all of my hair is light. Well after 3 sessions this year I still don't have the shade I want. I think I have 3 different shades right now. My Roots which, which have grown out a lot, are black brown and then the rest of my hair ranges from blonde to medium brown from the various times I've highlighted. It's really frustrating because I just want a simple color that I thought could be achieved through double process, especially since all my hair was my natural hair color at the time. Any one have any idea how I could get all my hair a medium brown. Out of the box stuff hardly changes my natural hair color because my hair is so dark. And I don't believe for one second that my hair couldn't be lightened all at once, I know it's just their way of making more money by having me come back for several sessions. Help please!

Dark to light means bleaching first, and you can end up with all one shade, obviously not natural. Natural hair is many shades, even your dark hair. Plus you need to consider your skin tone. Stay with just highlighting. Healthier for your hair, cheaper, and prettier.

I don't like highlights, they always end up blonde and I absolutely hate maintaining it. Damages my hair if I keep highlighting the same pieces.
