My girl-friend has taken a few pregnancy test and discovered she was pregnant. She first noticed that she was spotting, and then began bleeding as she would describe mild. She claims the blood was bright pinkish and at a time brown. She has been bleeding for the most part of 2 months. She says the bleeding stopped but has began again. During this time she has also had back pain, cramps, and abdominal pain as well as feeling nausea. Is this a for sure sign of a miscarriage or with all these signs could she still be pregnant?

Was her pregnancy confirmed at the doctor's? Has she been seeing the doctor each month?

While some bleeding/spotting may occur in early pregnancy, and the pregnancy continues along just fine, it should always be reported to the doctor or midwife. Miscarriage is a possibility as well so it would be best if she call her care provider and get checked. A simple ultrasound will let her know what the situation is.

Her pregnancy was confirmed at the local health department. Unable to visit with the OB due to no insurance and waiting on approval for medicaid. I've been stressing she needs to visit the doctor as well. Thanks for your input.
