Hello,

Four days ago I had my upper wisdom tooth extracted. Because I had an infection on the tooth prior to the extraction, I was already taking Amoxicillin for three days before the extraction was performed. I am supposed to take the antibiotic for 3 more days (10 in total since I started taking it). Now it seems I'm recovering quite well (first day with no pain), however I have a low grade fever (around 99) and my cheek is still a bit swollen. What could be the cause of the fever? I also coughed a few times yesterday (and had a throat ache the day before). Thank you.

Maybe you have a cold or some sort of viral infection. Maybe your symptoms are related to the tooth extraction.

I'd call the Dentist (or Oral Surgeon) and ask.
