I have an asignment involving a dog bite case, landlord liability. My assignment is to prepare jury instructions and that's all the assignment says, how is that supposed to look? I don't understand. I understand I have to list and cite each but I can do that by copy and paste from the site Im on but what am I supposed to write after I have cited say, negligence ccp section 100 et seq then what?

You explain WHAT the negligence was and WHAT section of law that specific negligence violated, with a brief quote from the section.

For example, the dog was running loose in violation of Section XYZ of the local dog ordnance, which states, "Dogs should not run loose."

Many jurisdictions have pattern instructions available online. Look at the site for your local court. Instructions are what the judge tells the jury about the applicaible law, in easy-to-understand language.
