My Details as as follows:

I have been on F1 visa since January 2008 and completed my Masters.

I started working Since August 2010. I filed my return for 2010 in 2011 and got full amount refund as my income was not much.

From Jan 2011 to July 2011 I was employed with One of the consultancies in VA and was working in MN (Client Location). During this period I was on OPT (F1 Visa)

Federal TAX with holding: 4228.93

State TAX with holding: 1959.39

After that Aug 2011 to Dec 2011, I changed my consultancy located in NJ and working in AR (Client Location). During this period I was on CPT (F1 Visa).

Federal TAX with holding: 3635.92

State TAX with holding: 1105.02

Now the questions I have are as following:

(1) How much refund can I expect?

(2) As being on F1, Can I get tax exemption on any thing?

(3) How can I get maximum refund?

Per IRS Pub 519, you can claim your wife as a dependent, even though she is living in India.

You owe the IRS about $1,300, because you will file Married Filing Separately and claim your wife's exemption. Your status as an Indian student allows you to claim the $5,800 standard deduction.

To determine what you owe for the state, I need to know EXACTLY what earned in each state.
