The purpose if birth control pills, blownn, are to safeguard you against becoming pregnant and as long as you have been taking then consistently and on appointed days, you won't get pregnant. Operative word here is CONSISTENT.

I beg to differ, tickle, as both my sister and a friend of mine became pregnant while on birth control. Both were CONSISTENT in taking their medication, both were very shocked to learn about their pregnancies. As Curleyben stated, and is correct in doing so, no form of birth control is 100%, not even the birth control pill. Only abstinance is 100% effective.

I will disagree also, birth control pills are not 100 percent even if and when taken perfectly. While a very small chance, there is a chance.

First of all birth control pills take at the very least 3 months until they start to work effectivly in your system and get regulated so it can do its job. If you're having sex and have only been on the pill for 2 months you need to use another form of protection like a condom which you should use as well anyway since the pill is not always 100% effective. Plus, condoms can protect you from diseases.
