In the movie the Book of Eli, is Eli Blind and how do you know if he is?

It has never said he was, nor did it ever reference that he was. His actions, in the movie would appear he was not.

Since the Bible is Braille, wouldn't it appear that he is and he is being guided by a higher power?

Did not see it as that deep spiritually, I have not watched it for a few months, but did he not reference his mother being blind.

But again you may be right, I will have to watch it again in the near future and look for "signs" of what it may be.

After you find out he's suppose to be blind , then watch the movie again , you can see him doing a lot of things with his hands , like he is blind .
Like when he checks the bones in the car for shoes . When he opens the door with the guy hanging and doesn't jump , then feels his way down to the boots , when the guy shoots him and he starts lashing out with his knife.
DID LOVE THE MOVIE

My niece is married to a guy in the movies, he talked to the director and said Yes! He is definitely blind. Thank you for your input.

I'll have to re-watch it, but just because he can read braille does not mean that he is blind. I liked the movie, Gary Oldman's character was my favorite.
