MANY THINGS!
You haven't even said if you are pregnant, healthy, overweight, old, young, ----
It can be a pinched nerve, ovarian cyst, appendicitis, ectopic pregnancy, ------
It can be nothing or it can be serious, so get an appointment and go soak in a tub and take some ibuprofin, and tell us how you feel, and wait for the doctor's instructions. If you don't have one, go to an ER.

Now I had pain for 35 YEARS in my abdomen, groin (hurting my bladder and bowel and leg movement), inner thigh, and calf that no doctor could diagnose until I went to a chiropractor, who told me it was scarring on my sacro-iliac around my sacral nerve, and he was right, so take that for what it's worth to you.

Hi tucker,

It could be lots of things.
You could have moved awkwardly, twisting your back. This usually happens if you reach around for something rather than moving your whole body.
Maybe your hip bone has some inflammation or perhaps you have a problem with one of your vertebrae, have you lifted something that was to heavy for you, this will put lots of pressure on the back, especially if you did not lift in the correct manner.

Do you sit correctly, not just slouch, bad posture is the main cause of back problems.
You could have a disc problem, continual lifting and bad posture on a regular basis sometimes can take it's toll.

My advice to you,is to go and see your doctor, who will examine you and prescribe the best medication for your condition.

Temporarily you could use ice packs on the affected area - this will reduce any swelling that there maybe.Do this several times a day for 15 minutes - should you choose to use a bag of frozen peas or something similar ( it will do the same job )remember to wrap in a cloth to stop it sticking to your skin.
Some people find heat works better for them,in which case - fill a hot water bottle and put on the affected area.

There are also creams that you can buy over the counter that when rubbed into the skin are very effective
EG ibuprofen gel to relieve inflammation or a muscular rub in, that will give heat into the area of pain.If you use either of these creams remember to wash your hands straight away... keep away from your eyes.

PLEASE people, don't rate suggestions as unhelpful. Save that for actual facts that are incorrect.
Sure, a kidney stone can cause pain just about anywhere in the abdomen and pain can radiate.
