I am trying to become pregnant. I have very long cycles and I seem to ovulate more than once during them. My cycles are 50 days at the longest, and my period is very heavy at the start and with a lot of cramps. I had blood tests and U/S all normal for being fertile. This cycle I had a little bit of brown discharge day 50 and the past two days a very light period only blood when wipe and it is pink or rust color. I am not having cramps, some back and breast aching. I had sex three and 6 days ago and three times a week every week prior to that. My hpt test was negative today... could I still be pregnant. I know stress can change periods, but I have been feeling the same for the last 5 months of trying and my period still comes heavy and normal until this one.

Hi eschnee,
Other than an immediate second ovulation, which can happen occasionally, you will only ovulate once in a cycle. Since it has been determined that you are likely ovulating, it seems it is only a matter of time before pregnancy will occur. With extended cycles, you will have fewer opportunities in a year's time.
It is possible that you are pregnant, but just need to test a bit later. Give it another week and if you still don't get anything more like a normal period for you, try another test. Be sure to follow the directions carefully.
How long have you been trying to become pregnant? If it has been over a year, it would be a good idea to have your partner have initial testing done as well. Has your partner had any initial testing as well to make sure everything is covered.
Did your blood work check for ovulation or was it for other hormone levels?
