I live in a condo, and have a halogen light fixture in our living room. The light fixture has worked for years, and then about a month ago it stopped working. I thought it was just an old fixture, so I replaced it with a new halogen fixture. The new fixture worked for about a week, and now has stopped working. It looks like the transformer inside the fixture basically burnt out. It is on a dimmer switch. I have checked all the possible connections, and they look good (to me anyway). Any thoughts on the next trouble shooting steps? Thanks, Chris

Could be the dimmer is not rated to dim that type of fixture. Can you provide the make and model number of the dimmer?

Thanks for the response tkrussell. The dimmer is a Lutron Skylark C-L CTCL 153P. When the old fixture went out (and I didn't know if was a problem with the fixture), I replace the dimmer, so it is new. The connections look good on the dimmer, and there is power to the fixture. Thoughts? Chris
