You apparently share a common drain which is clogged downstream from you. It should not be your issue to rod out the drain, the landlord or maintenance folks should handle this. Chances are neither of you have done anything wrong here

Hi Cashra

All these units share the same main drain line that you do and it is clearly partially clogged and since you are the lowest unit (in basement) the sewer water is backing up into your place... *UGH*!

You need to contact the owner of the property and let them know that this is happening so they can have the main drain line (or common drain) cleaned/snaked out. It could be a really serious issue if say, for example, someone tries to drain an entire tub full of water... could make a real mess of your place, huh?

With any luck it isn't anything too serious...

More questions? Let me know, OK?
