Me and my boyfriend are perfectly healthy. We don't smoke or drink and we are both young. We have been trying for 6 months to get pregnant. We have been having sex every month when I am ovulating and most fertile. Can anyone help answer why I might be having such difficulties?

It takes normal healthy couples up to a year to conceive naturally. Before this time, it is not usually suggested to seek medical intervention. So trying for 6 months is not an incredibly long time(tho it feels that way)My hubby and I got preggy right away with our first son. This time around though, it took us a year of strictly trying.(18 months after being off the depo shot)every woman is different, as is every pregnancy. However, you should visit your ob/gyn, just to have an exam/checkup to make sure everything is in good condition. Having a preconception check up is always a good idea, so that you know you are in good condition for when baby does finally come along. Most importantly, after having everything checked out, is to just RELAX. Stressing over concieving can actually DETER your efferts to conceive. You can start charting your basal body temperature in order to track fertility(Ovulation Calendar and Ovulation Chart - FertilityFriend.com (http://www.fertilityfriend.com) is a good site to do this with.) or buy ovulation predictor kits at the store. Just enjoy the time that you and your man have trying for this baby, and when baby comes, the amount of time it took your to conceive will just make concieving that much more special. Good luck and best wishes!

Same with me and my husband we have been trying for over a year now! I talked to my gyno about this about 2 months ago and he asked me some questions! How old was I when I started my period? I was 12! Did I have heavy periods? All the time! Did they last a long period (more than 5 days)? Yes! Have I ever experienced any pain during sex? YES! Then we talked about doing a procedure to see if I had endometriosis! It was a surgery and it was somewhat painful after but they found and treated my endometriosis and it increased my chances of getting pregnant by 85%! In my opinion it was worth it! Hope this helps!

Oh wow that's crazy. I started my period right after I turned 14. It does hurt when we have sex too. I wonder if I should talk to a doctor. What is this endometriosis? Has it been around a long time. I have never heard of it.

Provided by WebMd:

Endometriosis is the growth of endometrial tissue—which normally lines the uterus—in other parts of the body. Endometriosis typically grows in the abdominal cavity and most often attaches to the ovaries, fallopian tubes, outer surface of the uterus, bowels, or other abdominal organs. Endometriosis growths, called implants or lesions, often bleed during menstruation, causing pain. They may also develop scar tissue (adhesions) that can interfere with an organ's normal function. Scar tissue can also cause pain and difficulty becoming pregnant (infertility).
Endometriosis can be treated with medicines or with surgery to remove implants and scar tissue.

And it has been around as long as us women have been around.

Oh OK thank you for letting me know. I checked online and I don't seem to have any signs or symptoms of this. I have regualr periods that last no more than 5 days. I don't really experience any pain or discomfort. On occasion I will when I'm having sex but its usually because of the position I'm in.

Then you should have nothing to worry about hun.

Now, back to your original question. It takes a healty couple a while to conceive. Many couples take up to a year or more. There is only an 18 - 24 hour window per month when us women are actually the most fertile. Amazing we get pregnant at all isn't it.

So, 6 months is really not that long. Just relax, enjoy the practicing and your time will indeed come when you expect it least.

Okay I never knew that. I heard you can get pregnant when ever its just that during your ovulation your most likely to get pregnant.

I am pregnant :). I am about 6 weeks. Its crazy that I posted this and then a week later I found out I was pregnant.

We love such happy endings.

When is the wedding? You could have a great big reception with all of us!! LOL

My sis just found out she is due the first of August, her wedding is going to be the end of August. She decided she did not want to be a "round bride" LOL
