I am trying to remove the cartridge from an older (1994 ish) Grohe Ladylux kitchen faucet. I have removed the big nut that holds the handle assembly on, but I can't figure out how to remove the cartridge from this point. Do you just pull? There is a small clip at the top of the cartridge. I don't know if I should push this up, down, in, or out. It seems to move a little in all directions, but of course I don't want to force it.
I have tried pulling and playing with the clip. I have a lot of calcium in the water which tends to make the cartridge stiffen over time, and I am sure contributed to the pin breaking on the handle. Someone suggested I soak it in vinegar overnight before going out and buying a new cartridge.
I replaced this once about 10 years ago, but I'll be damned if I can remember what I did.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.
