I have a court judgement for about $8000 dollars against me.. can they take my car? I am dependent on the car for work. I am self-employed

I asked a question earlier, but didn't include much info. I had a court judgement against me in 2000, and I think it was renewed about 5 years ago. I have no money and can't pay it. My question is can they take a car that is registered in my husband and my name.. Husband isn't on the judgement. Value of car is about 7500. Judgement is around 8000... just had a collection call today... I'm very nervous

If you are listed ans an owner of the asset, they may be able to attach it. Generally they won't because they will get a lot less at auction.

The issue with the car is that if it is worth 7000 it will sell for about 3000 or 3500 at auction normally, and then have sell costs, court costs and more. They want the money.

Have you tried to work out any payment plan with them?
