Hello,
Im 21 years old and I've been regularly menstruating since I was 10 years old. My cycles have always been regular, even after 4 miscarriages. I have been with the love of my life for 4 happy years and we've always been very careful with our sex life. Lately, a number of my friends and former classmates have become pregnant. We have become a little more careless when it comes to pregnancy preventing. It has been exactly one month since we started using solely the Vaginal Contraceptive Film. We indulged in "natural" love making on the 26th & the 29th of October, and skipped using anything all together on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 5th of November. My last period started October 8th and lasted till October 12th. This is totally normal for me. For weeks, I've felt tired, queasy, and my breasts have been so sore. My breasts usually get sore a week before my period, I mean, exactly a week before... and just a few days before my period, I usually get one really big cramp. On the 7th of this month, I took a pregnancy test because I got overly eager; it turned up negative. As I was finishing up with the test, I noticed very soft pink blood on my tissue.. so faint I had to resort to a "dip stick" method (so to speak) just to confirm that I was seeing pink. This started at 5:30pm. I immediately put a sanitary napkin on, and kept my eye on it. The only thing that changed between 5:30pm and the time I went to bed (about 1am) is that the blood alternated between pink and brown and it only showed when I exercised the dip-stick method. Nothing showed through otherwise. The bleeding did not progress until the next day at around 11am, which is unusual since typically when I wake up in the morning with a normal period, I have to hurry to the bathroom to release the flood gates, and I woke up at 10am with the same amount I fell asleep with. It still isn't as heavy as a normal period for me, since I'm generally the type of girl that uses both Super tampons AND a big ol' diaper looking pad just to make sure I contain it all. It is now the 9th and I have only used 2 pads... and not because they were full, just because they had gotten squnched up.
What do I do? Chalk it up to an abnormal period or should I test when I'm done bleeding? Anyone been through a very similar situation? This is too light to be my period and from what I gathered online, this is too heavy for implantation bleeding. Regardless, this is not typical for me and I do watch my cycles very closely ever since my first miscarriage.
Any insight would be VERY MUCH appreciated!
