I had a thing with this guy a couple of year ago, but it didn't got serious, than we didn't speak for some time. When we starter speaking again it was weard, like, we weren't really friends (it was a weard situation), but we both pretend we were (I was dating someone at some point during these period).
And now we are speaking again (for a couple of months), we went out a couple of times, he tells me likes, and when we don't talk for more than a day, he sais he misses me.
But then, we met at a party, he was kind of avoiding me, so I asked him what was really going on.
He said that he likes me but he wanted to hang out with his friends, and he also said all of his past relationships ended because things happened to fast, and that he was liking the way it is happening right now (we talk, we make out some times).
I said I didn't know how to act around him, and he told me I should act like his friend because in a relationship before anything they should be friends.
And then he ran away from the conversation.

What makes me confused is that, when we met and had a thing it was just sex (at least for him), and I don't know if he wants the same thing now, to have someone as a backup plan.

I think he just wants you there,when he doesn't have his friends around.
When they are around and you are as well,then he wants you in front of them, to appear as only a friend( not girlfriend).

I think he just wants you when it suits him, obviously for sex.When he's done he'll drop you for his mates.

He is using you for his own needs,leave him alone,find another boyfriend who will treat you properly.
