What happens when someone has 6 gauge wire connected to the 200 amp service line. The 6 gauge wire runs to a 50 amp sub panel with 50 amp breaker for the main shut off and 2 15 amp breakers below it and 1 20 amp. This is in the garage. Can the 6 gauge wire melt?

Ouch did I miss that? I sure hope not.
Can't be, can it? #6 wire connected to a 200 amp breaker?
Tell me it is not so, if so, it must be removed ASAP.
Jesus, this can be a serious fire hazard, not just melt the wire.
Good catch Stan.

I have a feeling it is tapped on with the service entrance on line side.
