I turn the timer and you can hear it clicking, but the start button doesn't work. If I jiggle the timer and play with it, the dryer will start. Sometimes it will keep going and sometimes it will turn back off and I have to play with it some more to get it going. Help please. I don't have an ohm meter, is there another way?

You don't have to post the same question twice. We are all volunteers here and perhaps the correct member is not on here yet, or has not been made aware of your question. It would probably help to post the type of dryer you have and the age of the dryer.

It sounds like a bad timer. This should be cheap to fix if you will go on the internet and look up the part with your model number. If the dryer is old make sure to order a belt and lithium grease and tear it down and clean it well. Look here: http://www.electrical-forensics.com/Dryer/ElectricClothesDryers.html
