Other dogs and I don't think she has had much socialization. We have her scheduled to go into obeidence training at the end of month. We have owned both Dobermans and Jack Russells, but Loki is proving to have a lot of issues. She is also very unpredictable around people, she will be fine with a person, and within minutes can turn on a dime. We try to distract her and remove her from situations that are not good for her, but it is very difficult to read her.Any suggestions until we get her into her class? We do work with her on a daily basis, in regards to working her mind as well as a lot of exercise.

That's a very active breed. Do you run her, walk her, keep her active and busy? By three her habits and personality are pretty much set - you can, of course, change things. I will add that I had a GSD I got at 6 months from a very bad situation. At first she trusted no one. She did trust my husband and me, one neighbor and my Dad but other than that I could never, ever trust her. She wouldn't change facial expression, her ears wouldn't go up, she wouldn't growl - but she would suddenly lunge. She never bit anyone (thank goodness) because we realized she was unpredictable right away and took special care with her. She lived to be 12, we never had an incident, but she was "allowed" to be around very few people.

Obedience training did not work. She listened to us, we never had a problem with her, but she disliked every trainer - and we found a couple of the trainers (there were 4) were actually afraid of her.

Again - we KNEW she could be dangerous so we protected her and our friends/neighbors/relatives and never had an incident - but we took special care.

Interestingly enough, she LOVED children, loved to be with them, loved to play with them - although it almost never happened.
