I live in a mobile home and washer is in bathroom about 15 feet or so from kitchen. When the washer drains it gurgles in the kitchen and has a sewer smell. I have been told not to use Liquid plumber in a mobile home, is this true?

Do you have an AAV under the kitchen sink. Or at the washer? If so, I would start by replacing then, one at a time and see if it cures your problem. Liquid plumber is really no different in a mobile home vs a stick built home, it really doesn't work in either unless it's a very minor clog in the trap directly under the fixture. It won't do you any good here. I believe you are experiencing a venting problem, where the washer is trying to vent through the kitchen sink.
