I totally know the feeling my brother passed away last year and his Mrs is a horrible person. She does not allow any of our family to see the kids and gives no reason. She is so petty and started causing major problems and made us jump through hoops and in the beginning we all gave in and did everything for her, as soon as she had a new boyfriend (8months after my brothers death) she cut us all off completely. My niece at 20months was 20kgs and her response to her being that big was she looks so cute, she is big like her dad... I find that appalling and is definitely child abuse, I would also love to know what rights aunty's have!

It's not a good idea to post your question on another thread, this can cause confusion, especially on a 5 yr old thread. So I've moved your question to it's own thread.

To answer your question Aunty's have no rights anywhere I know of. Grandparents rights have been granted more and more in the last 10 years, but it hasn't been extended further than that. Your best bet is to try and make friends with the mother.

... My niece at 20months was 20kgs ...

Your use of Metric System units suggests that you are not in the U.S.

What ScottGem said is correct, but to be more precise with your question you might want to indicate where you are located.

Can you tell me what law your thinking of that makes this child abuse?

20 Kg is slightly over 44 lbs. and while it does appear heavy, first you have not really verified this as true, and we don't know the height and so on of the child.

It would sound very heavy, but even so, normally does not fit the rules of abuse or neglect.
