I received a DUI in November of 2010. I didn't finish my list of things that I have to do on time and now I have a warrant. I am currently in California and I was in a "mail-in" status but received a ticket for driving without a license and no insurance. I have to go to court for the California ticket before December so now I am in a hurry to finish my requirements for the Florida dui so I can go to court and have a license.
So my question is, even though my time is up for the DUI can I still complete and pay my fine without any penalties and be all right? Also, I never received a paper in order to keep track of my community service hours so will a letter of recommendation be all right to turn in? Finally, I have to do a DUI class but I am not sure if I can do a California DUI class and be all right. Please respond asap. Thank you soooooooo much in advance.

Sorry, no it will not work like that, you are going to have to deal with the warrant before you can do anything else about the DUI in FL. They may even require some jail time at this point, it is all up to the judge. The entire "deal" in Fl is up in the air till you travel back there and deal with that. And until you deal with that, your license will still be suspended.

So you hire an attorney in Fl, they arrange for you to go in, and be released after you get there. You have a hearing with the judge who will decide if you have more probation to do and so on. And your time is not up, once there was a warrant out for you, all time is froze on the Fl probation.

Next any DUI school has to be approved by the court, so you will have to get court permission to use any school, most courts have a list of local approved schools.

You are not going to have a license by Dec, I see no way for that to happen at all.
