View Full Version : GE dryer won't start?

The start switch on my GE dryer has been worn out for over a year and I have used the timer switch to get the dryer to start/stop. Finally a couple of weeks ago, a friend was house sitting and tried to use the start switch, not knowing my (admittedly bo-bo) method for operating the dryer. After that, I couldn't jostle the switch to get it to contact, so I ordered and replaced the start switch. I was sure this would fix the problem. No-go. Any advice out there? The dryer light comes on when the door is opened so I know it is getting power. Are there any fuses that may need replacing? The dryer has always worked fine outside of the worn out start switch.
