When I send a document to the printer from my laptop, to my wireless HP printer I get an error ?document can?t print? In the printer spoolIf I turn the printer off then back on, delete the document in the print spool, then resubmit it the printer works.
This is not an issue from my desktop which is also on the same network, documents from this computer prints without issue. I checked the services and the print spool displays "started" and have reinstalled the HP printer software on the laptop.
Defeats the wireless option, has anyone experienced similar issues?

How is the printer connected to your network? Have you tried HP tech support?

It's connected wireless, the router signal is excellent and all devises are showing in my network places. Since it prints after turning off and back on, also works perfectly on me desktop. HP support advised to uninstall the software and reinstall, which I have done twice. The printer/scanner displays in My Computer, and it allows me to click and scan with no issues.
I have the same problem regardless of which devise is turned on first. Thanks for your input.

If the printer is near your router, I would advise connecting it directly to the router via Ethernet cable. I believe the 8500 supports both wired and wireless connectivity. This will still allow you to print from wireless devices.
If that doesn't help, pursue the matter with HP. If this is a new purchase, you might want to exchange it for a new one.
If the problem is only with your laptop, it could be an issue with the laptops's WiFi card. If you can test it with other laptops.

ScottGem, you nailed it. I took your advise and connected the printer directly to the router. Now two laptops are printing wireless on the first go, without restarting the printer. Thank you.
