My boyfriend was on parole for NJ and was in NC where he caught two charges. He supposedly had two months left of NJ parole time. His max time for Jersey was five years but he only served a year and a half and got out on parole. He got time served for his local charges and NJ just came and got him. I haven't heard anything from him yet. How long do you think he will be up there? Will he have to serve his max time? Can anyone help?

1. What is the new charges ?
2. so he was found guility or plead guilty to the new charges ?

They will hold him till there is a hearing, that can be from a few days but is often more like a month to 6 weeks to a hearing.

Did he have permission to be out of state, Or is this another probation issue

But yes he could get up to the max time of the probation. What he will get is only a guess since we don't have enough details

His new charges were felony possession of weed and resisting arrest. He plead guilty. So his NC/local charges are done. NJ already came and got him and I don't know if he had permission to be out of state. He violated NJ parole so I'm guessing he didn't have permission to be out of state. I don't know what to do.

... He violated NJ parole so I'm guessing he didn't have permission to be out of state. ...

Either his violation would be based upon

the fact that he had no permission to leave New Jersey,
the North Carolina offenses (which would probably also be a violation of his New Jersey parole),
or both.
