Buy a universal remote control... these units have all the frequencies for all makes/models of televisions. There will be a listing in the remote controls manual for the codes/frequencies for each make/model. Ex. If your philips 52" whatever is code/frequency #25, theres a button or command on universal remotes to program that into the remote so the remote will send out the correct IR frequency that your tv will "understand"... and you're good to go.

Philips makes some universal remotes. Chances are if you pick one up, you won't even have to program the remote. And if you do, it'll probably be incredibly easy. Just look for a remote that has all the buttons on it you need (sleep, input, etc). And just to avoid any possibly missing commands, I would pick up a Philips universal.
